Description
Iran’s barite reserves were less than 10 million tons before IMIDRO and Geological Survey of Iran started to explore over 250,000 square kilometers of Iran’s area in 2013 over a course of three years and as a result, nowadays Iran is known as one of the greatest barite supplier in the world.
In spite of the fact that some 4% of the global barite reserves is located in Iran, the country holds only 2% of the global production, which shows the potential for growth in the market.
Most of the produced barite in the world is used in drilling as weighting agent and the main constituent of drilling mud. Other applications of barite include paint, paper, cloth, rubber, powder coating, and brake pad chemicals industries.
composed of barium sulfate (BaSO4), barite is the principal ore of barium and its high specific gravity makes it suitable for a wide range of industrial, medical, and manufacturing uses for instance Brown barite is used as a weighting agent in drilling mud while the white barite is widely consumed as a pigment in paints and as a weighted filler for paper, cloth and rubber.
We mine and supply more than 1000 tons of barite per month for mentioned industries and we also have our own barite processing line.
